- If you look around the market, activated charcoal is present in the cosmetic industry in the form of various products such as face washes, face masks, face packs etc.
- The fact that charcoal is so effective is because of its absorbent properties. This means that activated charcoal tends to attract dirt, bacteria and other foreign components on the facial skin to draw them away from the skin, leaving it clear and glowing.
- This is best done with the help of a DIY charcoal peel off mask. Since being a peel off, it will stick all the dirt components to it and when you peel it off, all the impurities would directly be extracted from your facial skin and you can actually see that happen!
- A peel-off charcoal mask will remove all the blackheads, will fight acne causing bacteria, reduce pores and will help make your skin firmer.
Why Do You Need A DIY Charcoal Face Mask?
- When we talk about a face mask, we are usually referring to a peel-off mask but they can also be simple masks.
- A charcoal peel off mask will work for every skin type. However, people with an oily skin type are the ones who need a peel-off face mask to get rid of the oil and dirt stuck into their skin pores. People with dry and neutral skin need them too to get rid of all the impurities that have been residing on their skin.
- A Charcoal face mask is the best way to go because of charcoal’s brilliant effects on the skin.
- In general, you should use a charcoal peel-off mask at least once or twice a week so that your skin remains dirt-free and bacteria-free at regular intervals, avoiding any major skin problems.
- These charcoal masks not only make your skin pure and clear, but they also help in shrinking the pores and hence giving your skin a tighter feel and younger look. This is a win-win from every angle.
Some Heads-Up While Using A Charcoal Mask
- All the charcoal-based face masks are not suitable for all types of skin. For example, some of these may be good for oily skin types only and some for both oily and dry skin types. Before using this mask over your facial skin, try and run a quick test for your skin. If one face mask doesn’t suit you, you can always try another one.
- While using a charcoal peel-off mask, you need to keep in mind that all your hair is tightly tied up over your head. Otherwise, they will stick with the face mask and will hurt a lot when peeling it off.
- Also, when applying the mask, you need to be very careful about keeping the mixture away from your eyebrows and lips. If not, it is possible that they could get pulled out and cause unbearable pain and misshaped eyebrows.
- While peeling off a charcoal mask, it may hurt a little since your facial hair might be getting pulled out. That is okay but peel it off gently to avoid too much pain.
